and I'm now engaged!

Yeap, that's right. Last night I arranged for a 5-course dinner at restaurant 34 for me and my dearest(on the 34th floor of the Radisson SAS Hotel) and then I surprised her by taking her down only 5 floors to a room at the 29th floor of the hotel :)

Without going into a lot of mushy details, let's just say that I proposed and she said yes!

So I'm officially engaged!

P.S.: I recommend both the restaurant and the hotel!

Too much awesomeness?

Maybe that was the problem... Here I was all happy with the pc parts I got, playing The Last Remnant with all settings maxed out and a much more silent pc when it suddenly decided to die...

Tried pushing the power button, but no go...

Possibilities:
- Power supply died
- Motherboard died

Turned out to be the power supply, got a borrowed one now and it works like a charm! I guess it was the Geforce 260 GTX that simply demanded too much from my poor little 550W PSU...

So after a bit of searching I've ordered a Silver Power 850W , hope it arrives soon!

Spinach & Parmesano Quiche, yum!

I've been feeling like having Quiche for a while so I baked one today with Spinach, Italian Parmesano cheese and Portuguese Chouriço.

It was my first attempt at using Spinach in a Quiche, but it worked pretty well! Well, the quiche wasn't that pretty (dark green isn't the best color for a pie :P), but it tasted just right :)

Ingredients:
1 fresh pie dough
1 can leaf spinach
1 onion, minced
2 silverskin onions, minced (sølvløk)
50g Chouriço corrente Nobre
50g freshly grated Parmesano
2 dl thick cream (Matfløte)
4 eggs
Salt, black pepper & a dash of lemon juice

Directions:
1 - Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees and cook the pie dough (in an appropriate pie container, of course) for 5 mins
2 - In a frying pan, brown the onions & chouriço. Add spinach, salt, pepper & lemon juice and let simmer until it starts getting stuck to the pan
3 - Beat the eggs, add the cream, beat more and mix the cheese well into it
4 - Add the contents of the frying pan to the egg mix, blend well and pour into the pie dough and let it cook for around 40 minutes at 175 degrees

The calorie count for the entire quiche is 2000 kcal, so here are my suggested servings:
Small serving: 6 servings per quiche
Large serving: 4 servings per quiche

Serve with a good salad and enjoy!

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix

So, it finally came out on the Xbox360, so I finally started playing...

Well, it's basically Puzzle Quest. I had heard several opinions about it saying that it was more boring or less predictable, but so far I'm enjoying it. Yes, it is more difficult to master and yes, it has some less exciting gameplay elements, but I thought the original Puzzle Quest to be quite boring at times as well.

So, if you need a game to play in-between other games, or just have half an hour to play at a time, Puzzle Quest: Galactrix seems to be the correct choice. Let's see if my opinion changes in 1 or 2 months :)

Beefing up my desktop pc... but not too much :P

It's about time, my Radeon 1950 is clearly not up to the standards anymore and The Last Remnant is released today!

Here's what I'm getting:
  • Cooler Master Vortex 752 CPU Cooler - I'm tired of my über noisy cpu fan, time for a some silence!
  • Asus GeForce GTX 260 - This baby has a great cost/performance ratio, Asus does some factory overclocking so its performance is just below the 280GTX model. Also, all 260 series cards are quite silent.
  • Western Digital Caviar GreenPower 640GB - Disk space isn't my main concern, but my 2 current HDDs are making strange noises so better safe than sound... The GreenPower series from WD is silent and performs well, so I don't mind paying a bit extra for it.
  • Corsair Dominator TWIN 2x8500 C5C 2096MB - 2Gb of RAM isn't enough these days, let's raise the bar to 6Gb! And with a 1066Mhz bus speed, this is going to fly :)
  • Arctic Silver ArtiClean 1&2 - Stuff to clean the old and dry thermal paste from surfaces
  • Arctic Alumina Thermal Paste - To make sure the new fan has good thermal conductivity with the cpu
Now it's praying to the Hermes for Komplett or Posten to not screw up the order!
